Media engagement

I am regularly asked by media organisations to comment on current political developments within East Asia. For example, during the December 2024 martial law crisis in South Korea, I was interviewed by Sky News and provided comment to Newsweek for their reporting. I also occasionally contribute written opinion pieces to various news sources, such as this piece on Japan’s war memory published by 9Dashline.

Organisational consultancy

I also offer training and advice concerning East Asian affairs to organisations working in this area. For example, I have led training sessions with diplomats at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on domestic and international political developments and trajectories in Japan and South Korea.

I also work with individuals who are seeking advice and support in my areas of expertise – be it professionals embarking on new projects, or students undertaking degrees in politics and international relations.
